Owe taxes

I’ve filed my taxes on my own for years. In 2023 turbo taxe said I owed $300 which I never owed before. This year I was told I owed $26 but then also gave the option to take $274. Nothing has changed (no depends, single, no bonus, ect) . Yet everyone else who I know whose information matches mine got back $1,000.

Im afraid to file in 2025 because I don’t want to owe no more. I feel like turbo tax is sneaky work because why 1 min I owe money, but initially was going to receive $274, which still isn’t nothing cause I dont making much at Starbucks. The end of Jan would mark me being at this job for 2 years and I just don’t want to owe anymore. 1 year was enough especially in this economy.

side note : I asked the irs and they are confused because my whole balance was paid in full and it didn’t show on their end that owed any money for 2024.

Owe taxes

Please clarify your question.

Unfortunately, we can't see your tax return to to evaluate your problem.   I'll have to ask you a couple of questions.

Have you already filed your taxes?

Did you print out a copy?

Is there an amount on line 34 (Refund)?

Or is it on Line 37 (Amount you owe)?

Look at you W-2.  What is the amount in Box 2?

Dose it match the amount on line 25a of the tax return?

Please contact us again with any additional questions or to provide some additional details.
