Our daughter got married September 16 2017 do we claim her when filing our taxes?

You can claim as a dependent if you provided more than half of her support in 2017 and she is under 19 (or under 24 and a full time student). If she was 19 or over on 12/31/2017 (or 24 or over and a full time student), she has to have gross income of less than $4,050 for you to claim her.

If you claim her as a dependent, she cannot file a joint tax return with her husband (unless that tax return is filed exclusively to obtain a refund of tax withheld). She and her husband have to file as Married filing separately if they are required to file a tax return.
