Is this something new for tax year 2023, I won about $1250 in a California Casino and I live in Nevada and now Turbo Tax is telling me I have to file a California State income tax, is this correct?
The income received while in California would be taxable there, but you wouldn't need to file a tax return if that was all the income you earned in that state, as it is below the minimum income required to file a California individual tax return.
