Non-existent SSA-1099 for prior year 2022

Hi!

My spouse retired in 2023, and applied for retirement benefits during the same year. Her SSA-1099 (2023) form includes a lump sum payment for December 2022 $2,545. Our desktop TurboTax 2023 filing year is asking the following.

"Now, let’s look at your 2022 form"
"If (spouse's name)  received benefits in 2022 that were already reported on your 2022 tax return, there will be an amount in box 5 of your Form SSA-1099."

"Amount in box 5 of (Spouse's name) 2022 Form SSA-1099"

Because she filed for these benefits in 2023, an SSA-1099 (2022) would not have been issued. What number value should we enter in this field?

Thank you, F

Since no benefits were received in 2022 and there was no SSA-1099 for 2022, enter zero (0) in the box asking for the amount from 2022.
