This TurboTax website will assist you in preparing a 2021 Federal tax return.

 

There are many questions concerning filing a return for a deceased taxpayer.  This may be helpful.  See also here.

 

Has a 2021 Federal 1040 tax return already been filed?  Was an estate return prepared for the deceased?  You may post questions here and someone will help you.

Yes 2021 taxes were filed and no there is no estate. The reason I’m asking is because she got a payment for something in 2023 and it is being reported as income. But the online system will not allow me to process it because she died prior to 2023. I was thinking I still need to file it but manually.

Any earnings after the date of death are taxable to the beneficiary of the account or to the estate.  I am sorry for your loss. For more information see the following TurboTax help article:
