My federal was $100 something with my CA income but then when I added my MI income which was only for about 1 month it dropped it to $7 where did it all go.

It's very common for your refund to drop when you add an additional W-2. You've increased your income, so now your tax is computed on a new total. Your total withholding from both W-2s determines how much refund you'll get, and many times the withholding from two different jobs isn't enough to produce a large refund.
