My fed return includes 1040-ES vouchers, but TT has said nothing to me about owing estimated taxes. Do they just assume you'll look for them? They used to inform you.

If you owe more than $1,000 the IRS wants you to pay more in during the next year. The program is just helping out. You do not need to use them. You can change withholding at work or Pay Online. Mailing a check these days is more dangerous.

Yeah, I understand how estimated taxes work. But TT should say something like "hey, you owe estimated taxes for next year, don't forget to pay them". As it stands, they don't -- if you let TT file electronically and never happen to look at your return, you'd never know and get a nice hefty penalty in a year. Did I miss something in TT? They use to be pretty clear about letting you know.
