My efile taxes were rejected -- someone claimed by dependent. I mailed my taxes but am worried they will not arrive on time or not arrive. Should I file an extension too?

No, if you have already mailed your return, then you are fine and no extension is needed.  The postmark date is what is important when filing taxes by mail, not the day the return arrives at the IRS.
