My e-filed state return has been rejected because an EIN is missing. Where should it be entered?

Here i s how you can enter your employer's EIN (Employer Identification Number) into TurboTax:

  1. While in your Tax Home,
  2. Select Review/Edit,
  3. Select Edit  next to Job (W-2),
  4. Select Edit next to your W-2,
  5. Follow through the on-screen prompts until you get to the EIN that you are trying to change.

My e-filed state return has been rejected because an EIN is missing. Where should it be entered?

No, unfortunately the EIN on the W-2 was correct. That is the only EIN on the state return, so I am not sure what the state's problem is. Thusly I will file by mail as suggested by Turbotax.
