Thank you Hackitoff
Good to know that it's not only me with the reactivation and 603 error code problem. I'm not very hopeful for a fix from Intuit. Last year I informed customer service about a problem with the IRA, Pensions and Annuities line not printing the gross amount and that it was only printing the taxable amount. The only fix for me was to over ride the box and put in the correct figure. I just updated my old 2018 TT just to see if the problem was later fixed. IT WAS NOT! So if they didn't have time to fix last years problem how will they find the time to fix this years problem. On the subject of the 603 error code current problem, I'm afraid to let the updates to come thru on the one remaining working computer and also afraid to turn it off until the tax return is finished. Thank you for the link with the suggestions but it's too late for me to try any of the suggestions like turning off my Norton 360 since the Turbo Tax counter has already hit 5 installs and is now giving the Error Code 603. Apparently the install counter is not in my computer but rather on the Turbo Tax web site. I would do a backup restore of my Hard Drive that takes about 12 hours but it does not make sense to do that and lose data when the counter is located at Intuit. I have no idea of the programers logic to increase the counter when reactivating to the same machine with the same CPU serial number and same Mac ID address. Last year I could download the same state program as many times as I wanted and the program logic does not say I have to pay again. I don't need the second state this year but I bet that downloading the same state to the same computer will cost additional dollars. What really does it make sense is that I would have to reactivate again in the first place. I'm using Home & Business. I'm reading thru all the threads and I'm not going to use up hours worth of minutes on my prepaid phone while on hold with customer service. For now I just have to wait until the 1099's arrive to finish up and not let the laptop shut down between now and then. I'm really not happy with Turbo Tax this year. If it weren't for this program I'd still be using my Windows 7 machine. Turbo Tax was the only reason I upgraded my computers to Windows 10.
