My amended return status states “take action” call 800-829-0582 extension 623. I call and always get high call volume message. How am I supposed to speak to a person?

I have called daily for 3 weeks and keep getting the high volume recording, I cannot talk to a person.  How am I supposed to “take action” when they won’t answer the phone?

best to just keep watching the website once per month…. amendment will probably take 9-12 months to process from the submission date

There is no point, because there is nothing the agent can do.

The message is misleading.
