MFJ with 6013(g) election: E-filing State Taxes?

I am filing a Married Filing Jointly (MFJ) tax return this year with my non-resident spouse, which necessitates including a first-time 6013(g) election statement. Due to this, I understand I must mail my federal return.

However, I'm unsure about the state filing requirements. Can I e-file my New York (NY) and New Jersey (NJ) state tax returns, or should I also mail those with the 6013(g) election statement?

Thanks!

No, unfortunately, you will not be able to e-file state returns with TurboTax if you do not e-file the federal return.  You can mail the state forms with the election statement.
