With an LLC partnership with 2 members, each of which has a spouse that is not part of the LLC... Can the LLC pay the spouses 1099 income for work done (filing, ordering, supplies, other office work)?
I think it's likely that the IRS would classify them as employees, which would then result in substantial penalties for failure to file payroll tax returns and remit required withholding and employer taxes.
