Keep getting error 8889-T line 1 when efile

Have one error to "Fix" before filing on 8889-T for Line 1:

Check This Entry:

Check the box to indicate your coverage under a high-deductible
health plan (HDHP) during 2023

No entry
Line 1, Self
Line 1, Family

However, I did not have an HDHP at any time during 2023. My W-2 does not have W in box 12.

I do have excess contributions from 2022 that are carrying over and I will be taxed on, which I answered in the HSA questionnaire accordingly ("No we're not going to make this withdrawal").

I've tried deleting the 8889-T and 8889-S forms and filling out the HSA questionnaire again, but can't seem to get rid of the error. Please help, thank you!

In the HSA interview, you did not indicate any HDHP coverage (good). Unfortunately, the Review thinks you must have had HDHP coverage to be in the HSA interview.

However, the calculations are already correct based on no HDHP coverage, so you safely enter "Self" on Line 1 in the Review because this (1) won't affect any calculations, and (2) will let you bypass this catch in the Review, so you can finish your return.
