K1P Shows my income/loss as "0" even though I had a loss

My State K1P and Federal K1 are showing the same info (of course) but when I enter the K1P form into Turbotax Online, it says my income is "0" on the summary page (K1 on Federal shows the correct loss). And yes the K1P form on Turbotax Online shows the correct income/loss on line 20 when going into detail (I had to edit it manually). What's happening?

entries on line 20 are not used by the Turbotax app. we can't see the k-1. sometimes they have no tax impact.  if you post the codes used we may be able to help you. a partnership would normally report items with tax significance on lines 1 through 18,

if the k-1 has box D checked any losses on line1 through 3 would not be deductible due to the special rules for publicly traded partnerships

What do you mean by codes? Also I’m talking about the K1P for the state returns. You’re thinking about the K1 for federal. Also this is not a publicly traded partnership. And “D” is not checked as such (which again either way does not matter because that’s a K1 thing and not a K1P as far as I can tell).

Can you clarify your question by letting us know what state you are filing?

K1P Shows my income/loss as "0" even though I had a loss

@idangold  Illinois has some new rules (new as in less than a year old) regarding losses derived from foreign income that could be effecting your return.  You don't say here but are you an Illinois resident or non-resident?  As an Illinois resident unless the K1 loss is from foreign sources then it should definitely be carrying over.  It may be limited but it should still be showing up.  Go ahead and try deleting the Illinois return and re-adding it so that - if there was a calculation error - you force the system to re-do the entries.

Here is a link to the new rules regarding pass through income and losses in Illinois.

@RobertB4444 IL resident and definitely not foreign income/loss. I hope it’s just a glitch. I’ll redo the entire thing and see. Thanks.

K1P Shows my income/loss as "0" even though I had a loss

Hi @JulieS / @RobertB4444 ,

Can you please help with this? I had a loss of $ -9,358. I also double checked that the IL K1P is filled out correctly, which it is. It all shows fine on the Federal side of things. Basically, as you can see in the image below, from some reason, my State Income summary shows "0" for the K1. Is that correct? K1P Summary.PNGIn addition, I noticed when diving into the K1P, it incorrectly shows the LLC name in both the corp name and partner name. Trust me, I triple and quadruple checked the K1P form in edit mode and the info on it is perfect. *The SSN is actually correct at least. See below what I mean by that:
