Just got my health insurance exemption approved from marketplace. But I already filed my tax return. How can I get paid penalty back?

if the exemption is for 2018, you'll need to file an amended return and include a completed form 8965.

What if you selected that you applied but have not received response yet? The exemption was approved, do you still need to amend using the certificate number?
