Joint tax return and 1095-A

Hey,

We're filing jointly for the first time, husband's name first and then wife. Wife received form 1095-A.

Now, on form 8962, it lists both names next to each other, However, it lists only husband's social security number despite the fact that the 1095-A belongs to the wife. Is that normal? Husband did not receive 1095-A as he did not have insurance with the Marketplace. Thanks.

Joint tax return and 1095-A

You are filing jointly, And the husband is the primary taxpayer, meaning his name appears first on form 1040. The wife appears as Spouse.

It is normal that form 8962 on a joint return bears only  the SSN of the primary taxpayer.

This will not affect in any way your taxes.
