I’m married but separated and haven’t lived together in a few years. I claim our children, who live with me year-round, and pay over half of the household expenses. Tax software is asking for spouse’s SS, which he doesn’t have. He’s a non-resident alien. I don’t know if he has a ITIN. Last year I filed as HoH and none of his info is on the form. Do I need that information in order to be able to file HoH this year?

Yes, you can leave the ITIN/SSN information blank but there is no guarantee that the return can be filed electronically.
