Is there no way to get backup for how a particular line is calculated?

That is, what are the inputs and arithmetic that goes into that particular amount on a particular line. When I used to do my taxes by hand there was always a worksheet that "showed the work" for how an amount was calculated.

I just had an interaction with an Intuit associate where I had a question about how a line item was being calculated (because I didn't agree with the result), and they were simply unable to tell me where the number came from.

This seems like basic data / application design that you would be able to understand what are the inputs and how a number was generated. Otherwise, what is the point of this product?

If you would like to be able to use features such as the source of the amount on a particular line, use a Desktop version of TurboTax. Using Forms mode, you have access to the forms and worksheets and can right-click on an item to find its source.

Using the online editions, you do not have direct access to any forms, schedules or worksheets.
