If you've already had your tax returns prepared and submitted by a preparer, you can still make an account in TurboTax and try your hand at entering in your tax information. As long as you don't submit, it will stay right within TurboTax and never go anywhere, and you can compare your results when you're done to the information from your tax preparer.
Once you've entered in all of your information (Federal and State) you can view your results by taking the following steps:
To preview your Form 1040 (this will be one that you can compare line by line to the copy you got from your preparer)
1.) On the left-hand side of your return, click Tax Tools
2.) Click Tools
3.) On the window that pops up, click View Tax Summary
4.) On the left-hand side, click Preview My 1040
You can also view your state tax summary underneath Preview My 1040 in this same location.
Once you're done, if you'd feel more comfortable completely clearing out everything you've entered into TurboTax, you can do so by clicking Tax Tools, and then Clear return and start over
I'm sure you'll do great!
