I am a US citizen who lives abroad. I have a US phone number to which I can receive only voice mail, not sms. Would this be a problem when efiling my tax return? Last year it wasn't a problem and I was able to e-file. This year, it is still the same?
I was able to enter my US number last year, which also got displayed on tax return (I guess IRS requires that field to be filled with a US phone number?), but an sms verification was not required. I am hoping it is the same.
I also entered my foreign phone number, but when I hit verify, it is not verifying me, saying that it cannot send sms to foreign number. But if I can file and continue to sign in and like last year receive confirmation of receipt of my tax by IRS to email, in other words if everything works fine, then fine
