Is right? "Unfortunately, the deadline for filing an extension has passed" appears while attempting to file extension for filing due April 15, 2020. (filing 2019) Why?

go to www.irs.gov/payments/direct-pay and select EXTENSION.

pay any amount (five dollars will do), your extension is automatic.

BUT overestimate your tax due to avoid penalties.
