'income in respect to decedent' says to use 'distribute to nominee' process and create a comparable 1099-G to give to the actual recipient. How do I create a 1099-G?

My deceased dad received a 1099-G for gov't income for crops. Info about 'income in respect to decedent' says to use 'distribute to nominee' process and create a comparable 1099-G to give to the actual recipient. How do I create a 1099-G?  Can I use a 1099-MISC (instead of a 1099-G) to give to the actual recipient?

Yes, a 1099-MISC would suffice for reporting since you would not be able to generate a 1099-G.

The 1099-G could also be claimed and taxes paid on the estate's final return.
