I lose money at my regular job everyday I do a day of military duty (ANG). The difference is several hundreds of dollars a day. Can I write off the difference?

No, you cannot deduct (or write off) income that you may have earned.

No, you cannot deduct (or write off) income that you may have earned.

In effect, you have already deducted that because your W2 income from your regular job is lower by the amount of pay you gave up there.
