Importing 1099-B forms for a joint return works great but the individual account owner name does not show in the result like they do with 1099-DIV forms, is this normal?

The "This account belongs to....." is missing.  How does TT know if the import belongs to me or my wife?

yes it's normal. ownership for most items is not needed.  - exceptions w-2s schedule c, k-1's, farm and possibly some others
