Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

If only my name appears on my 1099-INT even though it's a joint account, who needs to report the interest. or can the other account holder report the interest.

I would prefer the other account holder to report the interest, is that allowed ?

The 1099 interest amount should be reported based on whose social security is listed on the 1099 form. You could ask the interest payer to reissue a corrected form in the other person's and social security number.
