Usually, whoever paid the property taxes will be able to take the deduction but if paid through a joint account, you can divide the property taxes as you determine. Please note that the amounts taken on each separate return can not total more than the full amount of these taxes paid during 2015.

Usually, whoever paid the property taxes will be able to take the deduction but if paid through a joint account, you can divide the property taxes as you determine. Please note that the amounts taken on each separate return can not total more than the full amount of these taxes paid during 2015.
