If I fill 2022 taxes (last year to do so, all else is up to date) and pay $80 + tax to download software, is there still a filing fee (how much) and any further charges?

There is no filing fee but TurboTax can't efile past years' returns. SO you will have to print out your 2022 return and mail it in after using the software.
