I asked this question and the answer was yes, I would be charged, then went on to how to file by mail. I know how to file by mail, I just want the only charge to be the cost of the program.

Yes, you will. You can indicate that you want to mail a check in. Go to the left menu FILE. Step two asks about how you want to pay by a check. See screenshot.
