If I am eligible to file free for my federal taxes, when is it showing a charge for federal when i go to file my tax statements?

It looks like you have the TurboTax Deluxe. You may have started off with the Free Edition, but if your taxes are a bit complex you will not be able to use the free edition.  https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3334660

If you have not already FILED your return you can select the Clear and Start Over from the Tools menu on the left side of the screen, if you feel like you meet the Free Edition criteria.
