If I am currently getting a divorce do I file as single?

Not unless you have a formal separation agreement from the courts ( akin to a divorce for tax purposes ) .  If not then your only options are filing jointly or married filing separately .

Our court doesnt do separation agreements. We've been separated for 9 months.

If you have a qualifying dependent or child, living with you,   you may use Head of Household (HoH) filing status since you were separated from your spouse the entire 2nd half of 2018.
