If employer withheld state tax for the wrong state. How do I file a nonresident return to recover this amount?

Hi, I work remotely for an employer in GA but I live and work in CO full year. I just found out that there is a GA tax withholding for my income from GA. It looks like I need to file a nonresident return to recover that amount because I shouldn't pay for GA taxes. But how do I do that in TurboTax GA state return?

I tried to file a nonresident return for GA, but maybe I did something wrong or maybe it uses the incorrect W2 (with GA tax withholding), TurboTax shows I owe more to GA.

Could someone show me how to do it in TurboTax for this situation? Thanks

First in your Personal Info/My Info sections (at the beginning), enter that you are a resident of Colorado. Don't say anything about Georgia.

TurboTax will know that you need a GA return when it sees the entry in boxes 15-17 on your W-2 (the abbreviation GA had better be in box 15). Yes, you probably have the correct W-2.

When you go to State Taxes, GA will like be listed as an appropriate state return. Click on it, because you want to do your non resident state return first.

As you go through the GA interview, look for opportunities to state that this income is not taxable in GA.

At the end of the state, look at the state summary to make sure that you owe little or no tax - actually, I would expect a refund of most of your GA withholding (box 17 on your W-2).
