IF AGI = $37,524 AND TAXABLE INCOME = $12,224 AND EFFECTIVE TAX RATE IS 2.28%, HOW DOES TOTAL TAX = $854?

$854 divided by $37,524 equals .02275876... which rounds to .0228, which is 2.28%.

The rounding causes a different result when you go from AGI times effective tax rate, versus tax divided by AGI.
