I was legally married as of December 31st of last year so I have to claim married (divorced now). What if I don’t have access to my ex-spouses social security number?

If you were married as of December 31, 2023, you can file as Married Filing Joint or Married Filing Separate.  You can also claim Head of Household if you had qualified dependents and was separated for more than 6 months in 2023.

A spouse who is Married Filing Separately is not required to provide the Social Security number for the other spouse, although the return cannot be e-filed without the spouse's Social Security number.
