The 6 digit PIN number is for an Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) is a 6-digit number that the IRS gives taxpayers who were victims of tax-related identity theft. To need to have gotten the IP PIN for the IRS, you cannot use the one you had last year. If you do have a IP PIN see the following on how to enter it, once you enter the IP PIN, then go to the File tab to file your return.
