I started my job on Dec 19, 2016 and my first income for this job was deposited on January 4, 2017 the amount of $543.81. Do I claim this income for the year 2016?

I had no previous job for the year 2016 so am not sure how to respond to the W-2 information request.

Unless you received a W-2 from your employer for income you earned in 2016 but did not receive until 2017, you do not enter it on a 2016 tax return.
