I'm self-employed and use TurboTax to calculate my returns each year. I'd like to find out if I've been paying into California unemployment so I can collect some of it back since I'm not working currently. Where in my returns will I find if I was in fact paying into unemployment?

As a self employed person in the state of California, you do not pay into unemployment for yourself. If you have employees, then you would be paying unemployment for your employees on the state quarterly payroll reports that are filed throughout the year.

As a self-employed person, it is extremely important that you keep careful records of all your income and expenses. The link that I gave you above says this: "Self-employed individuals, who are not employers, may only elect SDI coverage for themselves."
