I'm still paying on last year's taxes and will owe again this year. How do I pay for this year's taxes? Will the IRS just combine the 2 amounts and give me 1 balance?

So will I have one balance or will have to pay each one separately? Does the IRS look at this when deciding if you can do installment payments?

Yes, they will combine the 2 amounts and give you 1 balance. They will cancel your current installment agreement but no worries, they will let you set up a new one that combines both years.
