Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

I'm entering an amount in the unreimbursed qualified educator exepnse section but I'm not getting a credit because it says I didn't enter an amount. Is there a issue

I should qualify for a $300 credit like I did in prior years.  Is there a program issue or another fix to get the credit.

I was able to post it and get the proper credit.

To post the Education Expenses:

  • Log into TurboTax
  • Go to Deductions & Credits
  • Scroll down to Employment Expenses
  • Select Teacher (Educator) Expenses
  • How much did you spend in educator expenses? post the amount.

You can view this in the FORMs Mode, or follow these directions Online.

  1. On the menu bar on the left that shows.
  2. Select Tax Tools
  3. On the drop-down select Tools
  4. On the popup menu
  5. Select View Tax Summary
  6. On the left sidebar
  7. Select Preview my 1040.
  8. Schedules 1,2 & 3 are included if you scroll down past your 1040.
  9. To return to the entry screens press Back on the sidebar.

The Educator expense is included on line 10 of the 1040.

It is included with other Schedule 1 information.

You can see Schedule 1 as an extension of the 1040.

It is in Part II Line 11.

It is then included on line 26 and posted to the W-2.
