I live in NY, work in NJ, filed my tax returns, I have 2 W2s, NY W2 has nothing in boxes 1-14, NJ W2 has nothing in boxes 18-20. Was it OK to file under NY & comb info?

i need to speak with someone who can give an answer tailored to my situation.

@wbjamaica-aol-co  yes, you enter it as one W-2, this often happens with multi-state.

You have to prepare your NJ nonresident return first, then your NY. During the interview there may be a question about double taxed income regardless you input it as 1 w-2, make sure to remove the correct one (NJ interview will be the smaller wages to remove and in NY it would be the larger wages to remove).   NJ taxes fringe benefits so your taxable income to NJ will be higher for your nonresident return in box 16.  When you prepare you NY return, you will get a credit for double taxed income although it won't be dollar for dollar as both states utilize different bases.
