I just realized i've been paying taxes in the wrong county. Now it's time to file.

My locality code has been for Morgan county on my advices, not Marion. There's a significant difference in the rate between the two. Should I file an amended return and try to do the math myself? I'm really hating the idea of trying to calculate the right county tax out of my entire YTD earnings.

Before you proceed, may I recommend contacting the county where you were supposed to be taxed and explaining the situation? The taxing authority may be able to calculate the correct amount of tax that was supposed to have been withheld. You will likely have to reach out anyway in order to ensure that your withheld taxes are routed correctly in the future.
