I haven't worked since 2008, I had no income until 2011 when I received my lump sum from a disability payment, but I didn't file a tax return what do I need to do now?

I'm trying to do my taxes for the first time since 2008 with the only income being social security disability, TurboTax is asking questions about my federal tax for the yr. I received the lump sum, but I don't have a tax return what do I need to do? Should I file a return this yr. or not?

If you did not receive the third stimulus payment of $1400, you could claim that if you file a tax return for 2021. Your income that is reported on the SSA-1099 for Social Security Disability is all that you need to enter in the return. There won't be any taxes owed and you should be eligible for the stimulus payment.
