I have transferred my 2024 return to TurboTax 2025, and it says I've been successful, but nothing actually transferred into the new file.

How do I actually get last year's numbers to populate this year's return?

if online or desktop is being used for both years, open the 2024 return to ensure it has the data. if so you'll need to contact support because the data should transfer unless you started 2025 and are now trying to transfer. the transfer must be the first thing done when starting 2025.

if you used online for 2024 and are using 2025 desktop, the .tax2024 must be uploaded to the desktop.

Last year's numbers don't get transferred because this year's numbers are usually different. What transfers is information like names, addresses, birth dates, employers, and forms like W-2, 1099-INT, etc. But the amounts in the forms don't get transferred.
