Hello, I was successfully able to file my federal return this year, but for some reason I wasn't able to file my State return like I normally do. I've used Turbo Tax for the past few years now and I never had any issues filing everything together. Can someone tell me what's the change this year?

Depending on your state and when you filed your Federal tax return, many of the State forms were not yet finalized. So you would have filed your Federal return and then filed the state once the forms were available.

Please follow the steps to complete  in TurboTax Online:

  1. Sign into your TurboTax Online account.
  2. Go to My Account then select My Tax Timeline..
  3. Scroll down to the SOME THINGS YOU CAN DO section, click Add a state (you are not actually adding a state, this will just take you back into your tax return..
  4. Click on the State Taxes tab.
  5. Click Continue to start or complete your state taxes.
  6. Click Done with State.
  7. Continue through the flow to review and file your state taxes.
  8. You may want to review the State Taxes section to confirm the return is complete.
