I have a 1099-DIV from a couple years ago i need to file. Do i just add it as 1099-DIV income or do i need to somehow report that its from previous years?

You can not report a prior year 1099-DIV on your 2016 tax return at all. You can report that only on an amended tax return for the tax year that the form was issued for.
