I had to verify my identity for my 2020 taxes. I did. But yet to complete my 2020 taxes. Is it too late to refile those

Yes, it's too late to file your 2020 taxes and get a refund.

It sounds like you filed your return for 2020, were asked to verify your identity by the IRS, but never received your refund. If that's correct, you don't need to file again, you need to ask the IRS what happened to your refund.

Follow this link to contact the IRS about your missing refund. If you don't get anywhere, contact the Taxpayer Advocate, here.

NO it is not too late. a 2020 return was due 4/15/2021. you have 3 years from the original due date to file a return to get your refund. HOWEVER.  you say "refile" but if you filed and verified your identity you should not have to refile. You need to contact the IRS to find out what happened with the original filing.

  1. Call 1-800-829-1040 between the hours of 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM local time.
  2. Press “1” for English or “2” for Spanish.
  3. Press “2” for “answers about your personal income taxes.”
  4. Press “1” for “questions about a form you have already submitted or a payment or to order a tax transcript.”
  5. Press “3” for “all other questions about your tax history or payment.”
  6. Press “2” for “all other questions about your tax history or payment.”
  7. Do not input your Social Security Number when the recording tells you to.
  8. Press “2” for “personal- or individual-tax related question.”
  9. Press “3” for “all other inquiries.”
  10. Wait to be connected to someone at the IRS.

the IRS refund website does not cover 2020 returns.
