I had a disable son who lived with me age 29. he passed away in October can I carry him as a dependent or claim any monies I paid for his funeral

son age 29 lived with me was incarcerated for 6 months of that year, he is disabled after he got out started drawing his disability but while he was incarcerated provided monies he need.  He passed away end of October.  can any of the funeral expenses that I paid be a deduction.  Can I Carry him as a dependent

We are sorry for your loss.  You may be able to claim him as a dependent.  Since prison is considered a temporary absence from home, if he was living with you, his medical condition caused his death, and he did not provide half of his own support, you could claim him as a qualifying child and perhaps receive Earned Income Credit.
