I got married in 2021 and my wife took my last name when we signed the married liscense. Should I file with her previous name or my last name?

I have not updated her last name in the social security offices. I don't know if the system automatically does after you get married.

Use the last name that is on file with the SS Office, that is where the IRS & State get information.  Your return will be rejected if you put your wife's married name.

the name she has with the Social Security Adm. No, it's not automatic. SSA is not informed of the marriage. she has to go to a SSA office.

Name Change
If you changed your name because of
marriage, divorce, etc., be sure to report
the change to the Social Security Administration
(SSA) before filing your return.
This prevents delays in processing
your return and issuing refunds. It also
safeguards your future social security
benefits.
