I filed my taxes but i also need to file for an extension

An extension is in place of your return.  You can't file a return and an extension.  Since you already filed your taxes you cannot file an extension.

If there is a problem with your return, you can amend your return once your original return has been fully processed (refund received or payment withdrawn).

How do I amend my 2021 return?
