IRS is asking for a 8962, I do not have a 1095-A, only a 1095-C from my employer, as I use their health coverage. I filed early. How do I go about this?

The IRS letter should have contact information on the upper right hand side of the letter. Contact the IRS and inform them that you have form 1095-C.

In case you entered form 1095-A in error, you will need to amend your income tax return. TurboTax did not create Form 8962 Premium Tax Credit because you were insured under your employer and received form 1095-C not 1095-A Health Insurance Marketplace Statement

  • You receive Form 1095-A if you have a www.Healthcare.gov (ObamaCare) or other state marketplace health insurance plan.
  • You may have completed the TurboTax Health Insurance section wrong. On the Was anyone covered by any of these plans in 2017? screen, you should have checked No.

To amend your income tax return:

  1. Once you've received your original refund, feel free to cash or spend it while your amendment gets processed (this can take 12–16 weeks).
  2. To amend your income tax return, click on How to amend (change or correct) a return you already filed.
  3. Three weeks after you mailed your amendment, you can start tracking its progress at the IRS Where's My Amended Return? site.

I edited my answer. The IRS letter should have contact information on the upper right hand side of the letter. Contact the IRS and inform them that you have form 1095-C.

I live in California.  I received form 1095-B which shows I had medical insurance for 10 months of 2020.  I was penalized by the state of California $321 for not having medical insurance (only 6 months of 2020).  How do I amend the state return?  I originally used the free edition of Turbo Tax online.
